Got up this morning and realized I heard the compressor (outside) but no air was coming through the vents.
Opened the door in the laundry rm to the unit and it was froze up . . .
any suggestions, whats wrong? where to get parts?
EB17B Coleman -- Unit froze - motor not on
These are main causes for a-coil freezing up:
Blower Motor not running
Blower Motor running at too low of speed
Dirty filter
Dirty blower wheel
Dirty blower motor
A-Coil dirty
Low refrigerant charge (leak)
Stand by as I add links to one's you can do DIY.
Leave unit off to thaw out or set unit for Fan ONLY to thaw. Be prepared for possibility of water overflow as it thaws.
These links cover the a-coil, motor, wheel and condenser outside cleanings and maintenance.
You can clean filter and check to see if motor is running at full speed.
After it thaws and all these are done, if it still starts to freeze, need to call a Tech.

That would definately cause a freeze up. It is bad, so will need replacing.
I would replace it and use the links I gave to cover the other DIY tasks.
IF it ran w/o problems and then suddenly froze up, then the bad motor caused the freeze up.
Whether something else caused motor to go bad, I can't say w/o testing entire system.
IF ALL in the links are clean, you have 240V at motor and you replace motor and run cap, should be ok.
Just remember, I'm not there, the only way to get a gaurantee is to call a Tech.

I have a similar problem. My fan motor ceased. The turbine blades do not spin freely when it is powered off and does not spin at all when powered.
I am guessing the motor is blown. I metered it and it is receiving 220.
My part number is 3200-790
What would be the replacement motor and wire harness (if needed) to order so I can replace it?
Thank you,
Chad

Hi Chad,
In order to keep down confusion, please repost in a new thread for your problem.
With that said, your replacement motor is $354,,,,,,,,,OUCH.
Let me do some checking to see if we can get a compatible motor for a cheaper cost.
The above motor is a match of motor there now which is old and thus reason for high cost.
Thanks,
Robert
