Hmmmm...vinyl log siding? That might be a solution for our cabin in New Mexico!! I wonder how much it costs?
You have to look at a lot of sites to find a price. I read between $400 to $600 per 100 sq. ft. Each "log" is filled with styrofoam for some insulation value, but not R-rated. They say maybe rated 3 because styrofoam is not continuous, but only inserted into the rounded log portion to make it dent resistant and rigid. You can get sample for about $10.
It's definitely different, and the pics look good. It has a 75-year transferable warranty, which is unusual.
Harry will have to post his pics after he redoes his mansion on wheels for his bride.
