Hi David,
You're very welcome, happy to help. It only takes a system 15 to 30 minutes to stabilize.
Thanks,
Robert
Hunter non programmable thermostat problem
Thank's Robert
Don't want to say it's finally fixed but my wife will keep a ear open for any problems at night since she doesn't get much sleep at night.
It about burned me out of the house last hight & had 3 blankets on the bed & one dog. LOL!
May just decide to use the Intertherm 2 wire thermostat for the winter & the Hunter digital in the summer.
The a/c if I can remember right worked fine using the Hunter digital thermostat in the summer time.
Just have to wait till summer to find out.
Thank''s again for your help.
Happy Holiday's

I might just go ahead & purchase the one you directed me to a while back in your parts store, but you will have to tell me how to hook up the manual fan switch on the new thermostat & bypass the one inside the unit since mine has that on off rocker switch.
I like the standard type thermostats alot more.
The system seems to be working fine with no hiccups of any kind.
Got up this morning hot again.
That's not common for my wife cause she likes it cool instead of hot in the house.
She sleeps with a fan by her all the time & has night sweats.
I like to stay cozey myself.
Thank's again & the thermostat will get replaced & no more Hunter brands.
I think we've exhausted this topic long enough, don't you agree?
Just add the instruction for the fan wiring instruction & we'll be through here.
If I have anymore problems i'll just start a new topic.
Thank's again!

Hi David,
Red to RH
White to W
Yellow to Y
Green to G
Set t-stat to either heat or cool mode and auto.
Set any furnace switches to the same, heat or cool and auto.
Thanks,
Robert

Do i have to disconnect the 3 wires from the rocker switch inside the unit & wire them off somewhere or just leave them be?
The way you told me to do I will be using the switch on the htermostat & not the unit switch in the middle position & not on auto or on?
Kinda confusing but i'll figure it out eventually.
I'll go by the schematic to help me.
Thank's

Hi David,
All fan switches are set to auto at t-stat and furnace.
You only bypass it when it is bad and doesn't work.
Thanks,
Robert

This morning around 4:00 I woke up & was lying in bed & for no apparent reason the fan kicked on one time & the burner was not lit.
This only happened one time now!!
I know the thing is suppost to come on after a heating cycle to cool the chamber down but this is crazy.
The temp setting were set down low enough it shouldn't have come on.
Could there be a intermitten short somewhere in the wiring or componants?
I'll have to wait a spell before I can get the new thermostat.
I'm going ahead & getting a digital one cause I may have problems figuring out how to hook up one of those ones with the fan switch on it.
You showed me the four wire colors to hook up & I only saw four listed & I have a 5 wire system.
I'm concered now abouit the fan coming on for no apparent reason.
CREEPY!!
We've statred getting mice in our house again so maybe there's a Bionic mouse in there playing on the cage.

Hi David,
What is the 5th wire ?
Is it connected to anything at t-stat or furnace ?
You only need 4 wires for your system.
Do you have a 4 wire a/c control box ?
You'll never know what is causing it without doing a complete test of the circuit with a meter.
Thanks,
Robert

I'll have to get back with you later on that one.
It must be a 4 wire system.
May be mistaken.
Good thing! Were not freezing cause the burner does work.
I'm not looking foward to next months electric bill.
I told you that thing has got me going bonkers.
Comes on for longer period then goes off for a short period (5-8 seconds) then back on the same way.(up to 100 minutes).
Yes! I time it.
Repeats this over & over.
Short cycle off, long cycle on, burner off.
I'm purchasing one of those limit switches soon.
I believe it has to have a short in one of them.
Like the contacts are burn't & tripping too often, cause it does it only when the burner is in the off position.
Kinda like a car relay will do when it its contacts are burn't.
May be a bad ground somewhere or bad conection at one of the wire nuts.
Take care.
