I am planning for a metal roof over. I have a protruding marriage beam (see attached photo). It is approximatly 6" wide by 5" high. Seems like the standard ridge caps are only 12" long, which would be too short. Any recommendations? I assume custom pieces can be ordered, but was wondering if there are any other options. What would be the minimum overlap needed on the ridge cap over the roof panels? Thanks.

You should be able to shim up with a 2x at the ridge and use a standard ridge cap.
