Installing standard tub?

I thought I remember reading that MH tubs are "special" in that the bottom is higher than normal to allow the trap to be above the floor. If I want to install a standard tub (from Lowes or Menards), should I just put the trap between the joists above the insulation?

That's what most of us have done. I suppose you could build a platform and place the tub on that also, but reaching the fittings would be one step from impossible unless you cut a hole in the floor. And that was what you were trying to avoid in the first place!

Typically there is a 12-14 inch square hole cut at the drain anyways. Have never had a problem installing a standard tub and drain assembly in a mobile home and I have installed many. Do want to keep the proper slope to the pipe though.
