Coleman 7900 series furnace in 1988 mobile

Hello —
My Coleman furnace is acting like the motor is running out of steam. Sometimes, the blower comes on without a problem. Other times, it gets going, but very slowly. And then sometimes, it just never comes on at all. In any case, it has recently started to smell 'hot' when it's running.
The original motor was replaced about five years ago and we change the filters at the start of every winter, so I can't imagine the 'new' motor has gone out already.
I opened it up and there was a lot of dust and collected junk in and around the motor (despite the filters!), so I cleaned it up a bit.
Does it need to be oiled? Or is there a bigger problem?
Thanks for any help.
