Floating floor

Going to the next stage of renovation.
Costco has a floating floor for that is 8mm thick with a plastic backer. Going to put it in the hallway and two bedrooms.
The old floor had a carpet glued to it.
Took tons of hours to remove it.
Still some bumps remain here and there.
Some of the floor is a little uneven but not by much.
Was wondering how smooth the subfloor has to be.
I'm not worried about the wear it's just the fact that it snaps
together. If the floor is a little uneven will it un-snap or get damaged at the edges?

Hi,

Not sure what product you are using but typically the laminate flooring should not have more than 1/4 inch dip or cracking can result. It should have some sort of instructions/specifications on the package that the items came in.
