Roof Replacement

I've got a 1996 Palm Harbor that came with an asphalt shingle roof with R-30 insulation. Was thinking of replacing with an architectural metal but wondering about the noise difference between a shingle roof and a metal roof when it rains. Has anyone made the change to metal and noticed an increase in the noise level?
My shingle roof has been replaced with metal for several years now, and I really notice no difference in sound. The wood underlayment and either the shingles or 1-2 layers of tar paper remain under the metal, so it is not like the regular single wide metal roofs with no underlayment at all. The biggest thing with a metal roof is to minimize the number of penetrations you have through it, and make sure you get a good seal around anything that does penetrate. You need good flashings, and caulk everything well.
Gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

I would recommend a "standing seam" metal roof, where none of the fasteners are visible. This is especially true if you have a low slope on your roof.
