Hello all! I'm new to the forums, and have a question.
I have a single-wide mobile home. The furnace I have is a Coleman DGAA077BDTA. BTU-IN-77,000---BTU-OUT-62,000.
I was told I can add some parts to this furnace to turn it into an a/c. The thermostat on the wall has an option to switch to a/c.
If this is possible, can someone tell me what all I need to buy to do it. I would prefer this over a swamp cooler anyday.
Thanks for any help!
add*- The home is a 2003 Fleetwood Entertainer Series 16x80.
Would it be possible to convert my furnace..
FIRST need ACCA Manual J Load Calculation done on home to determine size a/c needed.
THEN, find a reputable hvac contractor to install it and follow his/her advice on types of a/c and what is best for your home and situation.
Need evaporator a-coil, refrigerant lineset
drain line
Disconnect box for outside wall
Condenser unit
Condenser pad
Condenser whip (wiring-liquid tite)
May need blower upgrade
a/c control box for furnace
t-stat wiring to t-stat if not there
Could get packaged unit (all in one outside)
Would then need supply and return flex ducting and to close off dampers, one under furnace and one at supply duct to main trunk.
As you see, MOST important piece of puzzle will be/is/always will be the hvac contractor/installer.
Thanks,
Robert
