modle 7956-856.just want to know if turning off the system switch is sufficent to cut power to the T-stat for replacement?its a 24 volt T-stat in a colman gas furnace in a mobile home cerca 1966.

Hi,

Depends on how it is wired up. To be safe, best to always turn off power to furnace at the breakers.

No power to furnace will stop power to t-stat.
