worksbut once every 2-3 daysit gets really HOT above blower, about where chimney connects.it gets very hot AND smells like hot metal.but, burner will not be on just pilot.after short time blower will come on-run-shut off. then it will be ok for2-3 days thenrepeat.i changed fan limit switch.any other suggestions?this could be dangerous.

Hi,

Call an hvac tech out and get it inspected and diagnosed correctly. Not something to take a chance with from here or by trying to DIY for safety reasons.
