I have a 1982 mobile home with a Coleman 7600 heater. I ignorantly didn't know it needed a filter. There was no filter when the company we bought the home from (in 1993) set it all up for us. Surprisingly, it still works after all these years but now I need to do some serious heater and duct cleaning - or else I'm ripping both out and replacing the heater and duct work.

How far can I take this heater apart? How far do I need to take it apart?

Thanks for any suggestions or help.

I take the lack of response to be a vote for replace instead of fix. :)

Nope, been under the ice looking for a hole to come up for air.

Busier than a,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you fill in the rest.

I wouldn't take apart unless you are sure of what you are doing.

Would be best to let a reputable hvac tech/company clean and service it for you.

Be very careful with the duct cleaning part, they are made of flimsy aluminum and are easily damaged if not experienced or careful.

That said, at 17 years old, if feasible, replacing would be best of all above, but not absolutely necessary unless there is a bad heat exchanger for example.

Thanks,
Robert
