Coleman not turning on.

I have a Coleman Presidential II, the pilot is lit and is in the on position. I've set it to auto on the left switch and heat on the right but no matter what I set the thermostat to it will not turn on. When I set it to Cont. (Continuous I'm guessing) It blows but only cool air, I'm going to have a HVAC work on it but I'm just wondering what might be wrong so I know about how much I'll be paying or if it might be a simple repair.
