Hello,

I am having problems lighting my furnace. The pilot won't light. I can not smell gas coming out of the orifice. I replaced the thermocouple last night and it still wouldn't light. I checked the voltage going to the relay and it was 23vac.

I can hear the valve clicking when I turn it on.
The model of the valve is a Robertshaw-grayson 7200ERCS-1.

Thanks
Ashley

Hi Ashley,

IF the replacement thermocouple is good and top 3/8" to 1/2" is covered by pilot flame or would be if it lit, then probably a bad gas valve. be sure the pilot tubing and pilot burner/orifice are clear.

Only way to know for sure would be to call an hvac tech to diagnose the problem.

If you wish to just replace it and see, will need furnace model number.

Thanks,
Robert
