Best Belly wrap tape

What is the best tape for sticking to the belly wrap after accessing the duct work.
Looks like "Duct Tape" is effected by cold somewhat. Or is it just me.

Having 2 ducts extended with flex ducts to the enclosed porch, adding 3/4" more sub flooring and then Trafficmaster Allure, along with under floor insulation. :D

Just found your web site article mentioning Flex Mend. Thanks.

If you can find one of JD's posts, he has a tape & adhesive combination that he uses on the belly. As you have found duct tape just falls off. Mark has belly tape in the store, that is what I use. Greg

Flex-mend will work well if you apply it with a heat gun. You could use a hair blow dryer, but a heat gun is cheap and gets much hotter. I find that the flexmend does not work so well without the heat. Since the underbelly and insulation is usually like a soft pillow, it is hard to back up any pressure you apply when installing the tape.

That is why I prefer using spray adhesive and underbelly material. You do have to use a construction grade spray adhesive like StayPut, which Mark sells here at the parts store. 3M Heavy Duty 90 (not 77) will work too. You can make tape like strips or you can make flashing type patches, fitted to what you need.
