Hi,

i purchased a mobile home and now I'm starting to clean the duct/vents..... the part inside the floor and I noticed that there are a few places where I can see the ground from the duct on the side.... right by the top of the floor. I hear that repalcing duct work can be expensive..... I'm a full-time parent and student with a part-time job :? other words, no income.

So, my question is, how can I fix it myself..... I'm good at that :D

Thanks ikn advance.

If you're talking about where the duct meets the floor, I don't think those are expected to be airtight. If you are talking about the joints between sections of ductwork, you should use a foil based tape made specifically for sealing ductwork (ironically, traditional cloth duct tape is not best for this purpose).

However, the bigger problem, if you can see the ground through these openings, is that you have no floor insulation or belly wrap. Look through some of the other threads dealing with belly wrap to get an idea of what that involves.
