I'd like to put a new floor over the concrete/pebblecrete floor on the lanai. Does anyone have a suggestions on how to do this. Would it be ok to use 2x6 or 2x8 across the span. I do not have any solid wall to fasten one end to or secure a header. The room is approx 11 x 21.6.

Were you planning to have framing under your 2x6's?

no have them sit on the concrete only shims that would level the floor plus blocking for support
