Window water leaks

I'd like to throw this out there and see if anyone else has had a similar problem. We have had water leaks in two front lanai windows we tried everything to fix it and nothing worked until we realized where the water was coming from. Where the black spline holds the screens in there is a mitered corner we found that there was about a 32nd of an inch open at the corners. Has anyone else had this problem if so what did they do to fix it or any suggestions. Thanks for your help.

It sounds to me like you may need to find a way to divert the water before it reaches the window, such as flashing.

I wish it were that east to put something over it but it three feet off of the ground where we get the most wind and rain. If you dream of a fix let me know.
