Blocking Question

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me with some blocking info, I am trying to find something online, but can't seem to locate anything. Basically I want to redo all the blocking on my home and level it as well this weekend, but I need to know the best method to use for blocking. I've seen some places around here that have nice wood blocking, and I have heard you can use cement too. Does anyone have any blueprints or anything I could use? Thanks for your time!

Hi & welcome. I would use cement blocks, wood can rot. I would go no more than 6-8' between piers. Use hardwood shims. Remember that the only accurate way to level a home is with a water level, a bubble level is not accurate over that long of a span and lasers can not go through blocks & pipes.

Okay, and the maintenance guy said we should put skids under our addition, 2x6's standing on end? He isn't good at describing what he means... If someone could respond to this asap that would be great!
