We had a fire in one of our sheds last week. It melted about 1/3 of the back side of the mobile home.

Besides the underlayment of the siding, the insulated skirting has melted, now the water connection, etc. is exposed.

My question is what is the best way to protect the damage until the insurance company replaces the siding and skirting.

I was thinking about stapling tarp up over the damaged sideing bur wasn't sure if stapling to the underlayment would be a wise idea.

For the damaged skirting I was thinking about placing bales of straw on top of each other to fill in the open space.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

That sounds like about the best TEMPORARY solution to me. I would stay right on the insurance co. about getting it fixed properly.
