Smoke alarms-marriage wall?

I'm going to add a couple of smoke alarms to our doublewide. Can they be put on the marriage wall or is that not a good place? The directions say not to put them on the outside wall of a mobile home, but of course nothing about a doublewide marriage wall.

Any ideas on what anybody else has done or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Treat a Dbl. wide as any stick built home. ANY detector is better than no detector.

We put smoke alarms in bedrooms. hallway and the living room dinning room kitchen area. it might sound light overkill but as Greg has said, "treat manufactured homes like stick built when it comes to smokes alarms". We also installed carbon monoxide alarms. Don't forget to install batteries with your detectors.
