Vapor Barrier

OK, now that I've moved the MH, I hear it's a good idea to put a vapor barrier under it. Couple of questions -
1. My concrete runners are side - to - side with about 10 feet in between them. Do I have to cover the runners as best I can as well as the dirt between?
2. Any particular thickness of plastic sheeting to put down? The big box store has 4-6-8 mil thicknesses.
3. Any tricks to putting the stuff down?
4. Anything else I should know?
Thanks.

6 mil is the usually suggested one. The sheets should overlap by 6 inches at seams, and taping the seams is best. Also run up the skirting by 6 inches so water coming in under the skirting will not pool on top of the plastic.
DADDYO, The vapor barrier goes on the ground if you are on dirt, to keep the moisture that is always in the ground under control under the home.
You don't have to be obsessive about every square inch, but do the best you can.
