Does anyone know how to build an access door to replace a piece of skirting? I do not want to pull the track out at the top as all is new. thanks

The easiest way would be to frame the opening with 2x4s and fit an access door to it. See "a Better skirting idea" in the articles section.

This worked for me and maybe it will for you. I just removed a 2 foot section of skirting and replaced it with 3/8 pressure treated plywood. I cut it so it fits into the skirting tracks with enough clearance on top to be able to lift it and pull it out of the bottom track. Put on a handle and stained to match the skirting. I did 3 of these with one piece of plywood and they've been working fine. No messing with hinges or latches. I did put 2x4 framing behind my skirting for better support so that also helps support the hatches at top and bottom.
