Hello i am going to put in new sub floor in master bedroom, and like to know is it ok not to replace the flooring under the exterior wall. Also would it be a good idea to lag bolt the bottom seal plate to the rim joist for extra stength it just seems like a lot of work to replace the subfloor under the wall.

Its tough to replace that small strip of subfloor underneath the wall. What many have done is cut the subfloor as flush as possible to the base of the wall, and add some blocking underneath to give something to screw to. Then lay down plywood and screw the plywood to the blocking underneath.

If you are unsure of what to do, there are some great youtube videos on how it can be done.

You can sister up a 2x to the rim joist and fasten the subfloor to that, or if you really feel like it you can grab a chisel and dig out the old floor. Either way works.
